September is approaching, and with it, the new season. This might feel exciting and overwhelming at the same time: you have a whole new schedule to plan with new responsibilities and – hopefully – wonderful new projects. We have already written about the importance of reflecting on your previous season and of rest during the summer, let us now focus on planning your next season as a classical musician.

(Season) Planning is Important

This might sound obvious, but it’s good to start with the basics: planning a period (be it a day, a week, or a few months) in advance is extremely beneficial. It is far easier to plan your season when you’re not yet in the midst of everyday busyness. So, we recommend you take some time at the end of this summer for planning ahead.

Re-evaluate Your Goals

Goals (both professional and personal) have a habit of changing over time. When reflecting on your previous season, and planning your next, it is important to consider whether your goals have changed or not. If they have, think about what needs to be adjusted to accommodate them.

Time Management and Organizing Your Schedule

‘The importance of time management is such a cliché,’ one might say, but it is a cliché for a reason. Recognizing your unique needs when it comes to organizing your time is an essential part of achieving your professional goals. There are many different ways of approaching time management; you just have to find the one that suits you best.
